I cannot tell you how excited we all were to go visit “The Farm” in Kansas. David has family who farm crops out in Kansas and they graciously let us stay on their land, fed us so many yummy meals, entertained us, and taught us more than we have ever known about farming!
We were lucky enough to experience the beauty of Kansas in SO many ways. Fireflies were a huge hit….
We went on fun jeep rides around the land and saw wheat fields, ready for harvest!….
We experienced an exciting Kansas storm, with some good wind and hail….
We picked cherries, fresh off the tree and enjoyed the fruits of that labor in some yummy cobbler!
Sydnee loved their kitty-cats, and especially sweet Chester, who got more love than he wanted.
We celebrated Fathers Day there…. a church service (outdoors, due to Covid), a most delicious meal, and some peaceful time at home.
Tractor rides cannot be forgotten! Each kiddo got to “drive” the tractor, and they are still talking about this!
And the final evening, after so much rain, the small creek that runs in their pasture had overflowed. David decided he wanted to take his boat out, along with his cousin, Dave….. so here are a few shots of that chaos. LOL
Of course, with all this beauty – I had to snap some fun photos of the kids in the wheat field. Enjoy a few of those at the very bottom of this post…
We are so grateful to family for taking us in and housing us. Such a memorable week for us!
