The Wisconsin Dells

I have to start by saying…. the Dells were not what we signed up for originally. For all of my friends who know nothing about the Dells, it’s most known for the summer waterparks, lake activities and touristy shops. Due to Covid, SO many things were closed. Covid completely changed our experience but not for the worse- just different!

This was our first long-term stay of 2+ weeks. So we settled in nicely at our campground – Holiday Shores Campground and Resort. The campground is HUGE and our smart-car came in handy as our campground transportation. Here we are all crammed in for the campground drive-in movie night… Note Conner is there, just hiding behind the seat.

The biggest highlight for us all was the lake-side “beach” at our campground. Great sand and a fun water inflatable thing. We had lots of fun in the sun on that thing!

It also makes for a fantastic sunset viewing spot.

Since so much was closed, we enjoyed many lazy days. We had a playground just a short walk, that I could view from our porch. The kids played a lot of hours there.

We played lots and puzzled lots.

We also used our inflatable boat lots.

We celebrated July 4th here! With a golf cart parade and fireworks in the meadow!

And our most favorite activity…. the “Sea jets” as Ben would yell. We rented them from the campground for an hour. The kids had a blast riding on them, and David and I loved riding the waves. 🙂

Although we were not able to truly experience the “Dells”…. we were able to have a great time.

We also experienced David’s first commuting trip. He commuted from Madison, WI to Dallas. It went very smoothly and we had an easy first-time with him gone. The only hitch was when our propane tank ran out and I had to ask the trailer next to me to help me switch the valve to the other full tank…. I may have exposed how clueless I am with trailers. LOL

We also took a day-trip to Madison… I will post on that soon! <3
