Madison, Wisconsin

While staying at the Wisconsin Dells, we took a day-trip into Madison to check out the city.

We started off at the capitol building. Of course it was closed, so we just took a walk around it. The kids were amused that the statue on top weighs 3 tons, is covered in gold leaf and is holding a beaver. LOL

We then walked to a building that was done by Frank Lloyd Wright. It over-looked a pretty lake.

We then went to the Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Its basically an Asian-inspired garden to walk through. It was free, and pretty, so we took advantage!

While walking through the garden, David spotted a boat ramp…. so naturally, we had to take our inflatable boat out. Lets just say…. David wants to boat anywhere he sees a ramp. I, however, need some boating lead time. Boating in white shoes and a nicer purse are not the way to go…. LOL

Regardless, it was a beautiful ride in the boat. The lake was covered in, what we called, lake moss…. so it clogged our boat motor! Gross, but thankfully fixable!

And that was Madison…. a cute city!
